Everything went smoothly and quickly. Dr. MacGillivray told me I would be able to return to skiing without the need to wear a brace and that I would also be able to return to full activity levels as I enjoyed before my ACL tear. He recommended the use of cadaver tissue for a quicker recovery as well as for future comfort. As an NYC Firefighter, I spend time on my knees crawling smoke filled buildings and I need my knees to function properly to do my job. I followed the aggressive rehab program with the help of the staff at ProCore Physical Therapy in Valley Cottage, NY and I was able to complete the NYC Triathlon 4 months after my surgery. I look forward to returning to full duty with the Fire Department and hitting the slopes when the snow returns.
